Sony ZV-E1 Beginners Guide | Set-up & How-To Use The Camera
Grande descrizione. Saluti dall'Italia. Grazie
Great video, very helpful
This is by far the best quick information video i‘ve seen about this camera. Thanks!
Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!! Thank you so much for this very in-depth tutorial. I just received my camera this morning and all the initial questions I had were answered. This is a great vid.
So brilliantly explained, Jason. Many thanks! I learned so much
Insanely helpful!!! Thank you.
On manual mode when I try and change the aperture on the wheel on the front of the camera nothing happens. I can change it by turning the actual lens but id rather do it on my camera. I also cant change the ISO on the wheel on the main wheel of the camera. Do you know why nothing is happening when i scroll on the wheel? Lmk! Your videos are awesome btw!
Wait nvm I figured it out! I had to twist the actual lens to the 'A' and now I can change it on my camera!
Although the ISO wheel still wont change if I try and spin it. I have to actually click right on the wheel to get into ISO settings and then change it that way. think its locked or osmething and idk how to unlock it. lmk if u have any answers
are this gimbal is compatible with the fuji cameras?
when would you use the exposure compensation dial?
Thank you, really great video. I appreciate you treating it like a beginners guide because I bought this camera for business but learned what aperture was in this video lol
This baby will be mine next week!
I'm on a fence about purchasing a gimbal, don't they get heavy after a bit?😮
Yes, they do after long periods of time, but like anything you will get used to it, and the gimbal is a tool that should only be used when needed. That is how I look at it anyway...
@Jason_Hermann Thank you, I originally purchased a Hohem MT-2, it seemed difficult to keep balanced. I returned it and don't know if was a fault of my own.
@@imboredDB Yeah, that looks like a pretty good option these days as well. Hard to say if it was user error or not, but when you say "keep balanced" that makes me wonder? The gimbal needs to be balanced and calibrated often, so changing zoom, adding a mic, or changing lenses will require a re-balance and calibration for sure. All the best, Jay
thx so much for your time! Great video, great speech, great info
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Jason you have a new subscriber here I've been following your channel for a while now, I've been watching videos about the Sony ZV-1, the way you explain all the situations, great tips, I would ask you a favor because I'm a certain age and there are many settings on the Sony ZV1. If I could, in a few words the settings for filming in progress always under the sun on 16/9 to put the video on RUclips I would appreciate it, if it is not possible no problem I will continue to watch your explanations as an expert. Have a nice day Greetings
THANKS FOR MAKING THIS CONCEPTUAL VIDEO
Welp. I plan on watching this at least 50 more times.
haha, you got this!!
Great demonstration for someone like me who just bought this camera and want to know how to best use it. Thanks .
You're welcome!
Best best best tutorial!!
Glad you think so!
and some folks say it is only a point and shoot camera or just for beginners, this gear with the 2 kit lens will match camera worth 4 times its price in term of pics quality and on top of that you can bring it with you everywhere......
In the hands of an expert the iPhone can make movies..... to your point.
@@Jason_Hermann what are you talking about here ?
“Notice how, when you turn it on… it grows in size”. 😂 Been saying this for years lol
good video Jason, thank you, question: if I used it a apsc lens , what's the crop factor in this camera EX: Tamron 17-70 mm f2.8?
Crop factor would be 1.5x so 17x 1.5x and 70x 1.5x = 25.5-105mm effective...
question: when shooting video and the sun is way too bright even with an nd filter would you go over 1/50 when shooting in 24fps?
Yes, you do the best you can and I "cheat" all the time! Mind you I am not making real movies either, just youtube videos for the most part.
Excellent quick start with s-log, exposure initialization, color balance and useful insights! Lots to learn but this to-the-point work flow for camera setup got me started. I have your channel at the top of my list.
MAN YOU JUST SAVED MY LIFE! I wasn’t able to balance right following instructions from other videos, and following yours it just works perfectly
Glad it helped!
Very useful tutorial: I am about to buy this gimbal and I needed this kind of tutorial to see the process of balancing and working with it. I have now the Canon R6 that doesn't fit my current gimbals (more a question of front heavy lenses and no room to pull back the camera on the gimbal) and this one seems perfect for this camera. At first I was afraid when you set the camera to the right (it being a small camera) but then I see that the balancing is done moving the camera away from the motor, so a bigger camera will still have room for balancing. 20:20 .... the Fallow mode used to be the Follow mode, but now people will use the Fallow mode.
4:58 what a shame it's not usb-c, especially for this price
thank you sir . not doing skip in this video. watching whole till end
Well well well, this guy is awesome 😎 I just learned so many things anout my camera! Thank you so much. I can't wait to watch your other videos!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you very much :)
Thank you very much.
Welcome 😊
Sony is a nice brand so does this video, very useful and impressive
Wow, this video is a treasure!
This tutorial makes me feel like I can finally figure out my gimbal. Thank you! It’s the video I’ve needed! You explained it all perfectly! 😊
You can do it!
Great video Jason! Thanks for showing the before and after images. 👍
Is it easy to post pictures in FB?
Hi is this setup good for filming the motorsports?
Yeah, I would say so.
💯🙏🏾
Thank you so much! Such a helpful video. Unfortunately, this is the third R8 tutorial video I watched. If this had been the first, I would have only needed to watch one.
You're very welcome and thank you for the kind words :)
Design and reaction of the app are years old :D But cant wait to try it tomorrow. Got mine R6ii today.
Nice 👍
Thank you so much for this! I bought my camera from Japan and as everything is in Japanese so the menu settings were super confusing for me
You're very welcome!
Hi Jason, I just bought mh Zhiyun Cinepeer 3E and I watched your tutorial as well. I set it my camera and every time I turn on my gimbal it says Axis Lock. I unlock everything and it keeps saying Axis Lock. For this reason I can not go through all the settings . Please let me know how to unlock Axis gimbal. Thank you.
There are 3 separate lock switches. The Axis switch is on the bottom right where the top of the handle is. I talked about that axis here: 12:05
How do I turn on the live view focal length counter?

What mode do you reckon for a concert? ( taylor swift) auto or sport? Thank you
Auto should do a good job, if not try a few other modes for fun and see what happens!
Very detailed tutorial thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
Super great video. Thank you very much ❤
I once owned both the Zeiss 55 and the 50 2.5 G. I sold the 50 in favour of the Zeiss. It's a sensational lens, which shines in the field. It is more than the sum of its parts. The bokeh is special and you can get the swirls if there are trees in the background. The lens has character and is less clinical than the newer G and GM lenses.I Love the look from the front. At F4, it has great 3d pop. It cannot be quantified. There is something different about how it renders the images. The images from my 85 are probably sharper, but they look flat compared to the images from the Zeiss. What a gem of a lens indeed.
I 100% agree with everything you said and thank you for taking the time to comment :)
Thank you sir
